Must Try Texting Tools Targeted to Employees

Author: DeNesha Tellis

Employees receive a lot of information every day, and cutting through the noise can be a challenge. However, it is possible to grab your employees’ attention using a good mix of tools and strategy. Many companies have incorporated texting or SMS (Short Message Service) into their communications strategy. Some advantages are:

  1. Texting can integrate into your company’s existing communications workflow.
  2. Texting is a great way to reach employees who are not working at a desk or computer.
  3. The majority of employees are already accustomed to receiving text messages from businesses in their personal lives.

Choosing the SMS tool that is right for your company can be a daunting task. Here’s a look at three tools that might have what you are looking for:

SimpleTexting

Just as its name implies, SimpleTexting is on the simpler, more intuitive side of SMS tools. According to their website: “If you’ve ever sent a text, you know how to use SimpleTexting.” The features go beyond being able to send mass informational messages to support activities such as contests and voting. SimpleTexting also allows account owners to track open, click-through, and conversion rates of text messages.

Simplified Alerts
Simplified Alerts uses the SimpleSend application, which is a straight-forward and user-friendly interface. This efficient, cost-effective SMS tool allows administrators to set up, schedule and send texts to different groups. The simplicity makes it a good option for companies getting started with SMS. If you need advanced analytics, customization or integration capabilities, another tool with more robust features may be a better fit.

Workshop
Integration is the name of the game for Workshop. Administrators of Workshop have the ability to send communications across multiple channels, including text from a singular platform. Workshop also integrates with email systems, instant messaging apps, intranets, etc., which may be ideal for communicators looking to streamline their set of tools. Workshop also allows for greater customization based on an employee’s preferences.  For example, an update can be sent as an email or a text message.

Whether simplicity, analytics or integration is your primary focus, there is an SMS tool available to enhance your internal communications strategy.
